    Sports bras hold down the chest more than a normal bra would while running or walking. If you have a tiny chest like double AA you tend to where them because normal bras in AA size is rare. If you have a large chest then you where sports bras.
    If its a uniform for school its so that your chest isn’t bulging out and guys stare at it.

    well there are a few…. the biggest one is comfort….lest movement if it is constrictred….that is what a sports bra does…….

    It is all personal preference. I worked at J.C. Penney as a certified bra fitter and there really is no difference. Unless you are going to be very active, but that is because the bra will hold your boobs a little more steady.
