Question by JC rae: How much money does the average college sports team bring in verses how much they cost?
I’m curious as to when to bring college sports teams do really less than they cost, then why do we have them. Can anyone tell me if they cost more than they bring to do?

Look at the number of sports at universities; from NAIA, JUCO and all the NCAA divisions. It is a myth that any churn out a tangible profit, since there is creative bookeeping at work…for example, stadium maintenance is typically not built into the football budget, but spun off into another department and most programs lose money going to Bowl games due to sharing the payout with other conference members

  1. Matt Wright says:

Any school that fields a football team gets most of their sports-revenue from that team. Football usually pays for the other sports, as they bring in little to nothing in revenue. Football is king in America.
