How can I get the best sports action shots with my Sony H3 digital camera?

Question by Ashley M: How can I get the best sports action shots with my Sony H3 digital camera?
My camera has a 10x optical zoom and a “sport” mode, the movement forward. I would like to use it in the open air (eg football) and indoor (eg, hockey), but my pictures are not particularly crunchy, even in spite of the size 7x5in with 8.1MP camera and come with a Zeiss lens. I use auto focus and press the button halfway down before Aufnahme. Was I’m doing wrong and is there a simple way to correct this? Thanks.

I’m not sure why this isn’t working for you, sounds like it should. The only thing I can suggest is turn on your “auto-bracketing” feature or auto-bracket on a manual setting. It might help. Also, do you use a tripod? This would help, especially on a timer setting or with a remote shutter release, which would steady your camera
